NHS Vaccinations moving to a Federated Data Platform

NHS England Vaccinations Applications are moving to a new dedicated vaccines workspace on the Federated Data Platform.

The new Vaccines Workspace acts as a ‘single point of access’ for:

  • Supply Chain Applications
  • Site Management – Site Change Request Application

The Vaccines workspace will go-live on Wednesday 14 August. In preparation for launch and to aid a smooth transition, all users are required to register for access to the new platform.

Users are advised to register for access to the new platform by 5pm on Monday 12 August, to continue to access Supply and Site Management Application dashboards. Registrations made after this date may result in a delay of vaccine availability and reporting, once transition from National Data Platform (Foundry) to the NHS Federated Data Platform takes place on Wednesday 14 August.

Vaccine Orders
Sites can continue to order vaccine via National Data Platform (Foundry) up until Friday 9 August for delivery on Wednesday 14 August.

Sites can commence the ordering of vaccine in the New Federated Data Platform from Wednesday 14 August for delivery on Monday 19 August and beyond. There will be no deliveries made on Thursday 15 and Friday 16 August to support the transition.

You can find more information about this move in the attached communication that was originally sent to pharmacy contractors previously by NHS England.

If you have not received the email, it may worth registering your lack of receipt through the national service desk : ssd.nationalservicedesk@nhs.net.

The initial training will show how to set up the system, if you haven’t done so already.  It is relatively straightforward.

Please do not worry too much about the 12th August deadline, whilst ideally that is adhered to, if it is missed, please let the above email know and they will work with the region to get the individuals set up. It may take a little longer, but it is not an absolute cut off.

In addition, we have been advised that there appear to be a limited number of individuals/sites which seem to struggle to connect to the training calls via the links, due to local issues such as their firewall preventing access, etc. (this is according to the helpdesk). These problems need to be resolved via your local IT teams.

Please direct any other enquiries to your local vaccination team:
